This week we were in Finland. Most of the time, travelling through Scandinavia I wonder how these small, icy countries managed to go out and conquer not just with the Vikings but now with brands like Angry Birds, Nokia, IKEA. Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle – official home of Santa Claus – is one place where the tables were reversed. I wondered how Wipro had managed to run an office there!One of our tour guides’ asked why India had so many people. Various factors of course, but this made India rely more on its domestic market. Things are changing now, and that’s a good thing. We have a lot of catching up to do in terms of per capita income!
Meanwhile, I’ve developed a taste for salmon, pike perch and the local bread. Who’s starting a Nordic restaurant in Bangalore?!
